I'm a licensed mental health counselor ( NY LMHC #7919) and am originally from the South (Chattanooga, TN and Atlanta, GA). My passion is helping clients fully process past experiences via the use of psychodynamic and interpersonal therapies, as well as trauma-informed treatments, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I have had the privilege of seeing clients since 2010. My passion for therapy comes from watching the insight that organically develops in clients, leading to having compassion for your own story, and increased emotional maturity in the present. As Carl Jung said, "Knowing your own darkness is the best method of dealing with the darkness of other people." I believe therapy is a path to a healthier world.
In addition to therapy, I am also a lover of books (Dave Eggers, Emma Straub, Anne Lamott, and any good nonfiction exploration of identity), the Enneagram, dogs, the NYC underground toddler scene, coffee shops, and The West Wing.
